The single best book on screenplay writing, bar none, is "Story: Substance, Structure, Style and The Principles of Screenwriting" by Robert McKee.

It's a classic. There are very few screenwriters who don't have McKee's book on their shelves.

Gee, I can only think of one -- Backwards and Forewards, and it's mostly a book on understanding plays. Seems like it's used in college classes a lot.

as iam in this profession , i would say my points
if u want to write a screenplay , you must do what your mind
says, and also write scripts that it can be understood by you!!!!!!!!!!
