yes and no. i am from Canada and may have a different point of view as i am not living in your country. yes America is safer because the people are aware of the danger that exists and now have the knowledge they need to keep an eye out for the nuts that would pull **** like 9/11 because when push comes to shove it is the people that can make a difference example United Flight 93. And no because the danger will never be solved by a government agency if anything it will be made worse because they will not take action when required or just not inform the right people when the time to act is due.

The mere fact that more people operating the airports have stepped up their vigilance and security checks is a good indicator of safety.

When the incident happened it exposed the trusting environment that the terrorists had exploited.

I think that 9/11 shatterred our collective innocence but we are relatively safer now with all the changes made

About 20% safer than before and it will never be more.

This isn't a job to be left to paid employees. Homeland Security is everyone's responsibility.

I guess 'we' means Americans.

Now it is possible for a policeman to walk into your house without a warrant, arrest you as being a suspected terrorist,
imprison you for an undetermined period with no access to a lawyer, or even deport you and torture you.
In my book, that's not safe!

No, now we have a tyrant, George W. Bush to worry about. The terrorist that destroys his own turf, but lets illegal aliens in to cover his butt.
