I see this girl at workplace but feel shy to introduce myself. I know she is also shy. Every time we pass each other on the hallway we give each other smiles but I am too shy to talk to her. I want to ask her out but feel hestitant b/c she is white and I am indian. I don't know what she thinks of me or my race. I keep thinking about her all the time and can't take her out of my mind. Is that unusual? Please give me your opinions.

It may not be the most reasonable place to develop romantic feelings because it could adversely effect your job even to the point of loosing it.

I would say, if you want to eventually ask her out on a date, start now by saying hi in passing. Your heart will race and you may sweat a bit, but it will help you be able to talk to her after awhile. Take your time. If you take things gradually (but be consistent), this will give her a chance to get more comfortable with you, and perhaps begin to open up to you as well. After a week or two of just saying hi to her, then ask her a question relating to work. Then when she answers you, tell her thank you and the tell her as you begin to walk away, oh by the way you look nice, leave it at that, and walk then walk away. See what happens. If she says hi to you the next time you pass, have something to say every once in awhile when you pass her. After time, you will feel more comfortable to talk to her. After you can have at least a couple of conversations with her, and she comes across as comfortable with you, and you still like her, ask her to lunch and see what she says. You should be able to take it from there. ;-)

Look at it this way,, you have more of a chance of having a new relationship
( whether it turns out to be friendship or very well could be more), then to do nothing at all. She may be just as shy as you, what do you have to lose by talking with her?, nothing, if you don't talk with her?, everything. And don't despair if you are turned down, you took your first step to meeting someone that made an impact on you.
Good luck! Stand strong!

You are shy. Start by saying hello with your smile this coming week. If she pauses and says hello back, then take the opportunity to say, My name is....... and yours is????. Tell her to have a good day. Possibly you will become more comfortable to be able to carry on a conversation with her on a friendly basis and see what develops.

I am sure she would be honored to get a hello from you and learn your name. Be brave and have fun getting to know her.

U shouldn't worry about the race thing anyone worth getting to know wouldn't care about that and if u don't ask u'll always be left wondering if there was somethin there. Worst case is that she says no, but at least u won't have to worry about it anymore.
Good Luck!

Your both humans beings, neither race has better or worse than the other. Ask her out before some smooth talker gets her. If that happens you'll be kickin your butt from now on.

Hi ..Well..why don't you verbally say "Hi" to her and progressively talk to her..what does being Indian have to do with being attracted to a white chick...obviously she likes you and is looking at you...so ..talk to her dude..Don't let race stop you from going out with her..don't even mention race...

Good luck..
I am indian btw...married to a white guy.

Ask her out. From my years on this earth. Women confuse me. I see some women with men and wonder what they see in them. So ask her out all she can do is say no. You can not lose something you do not have.

Yeah it sounds alot harder than it really is but just go up to her and ask her out on a date. If she doesn't like you then nothing happens.
