You use the Easter or the Western based techniques of relaxation. Strangely, relaxation is the answer to everything. The deepest level of relaxation allow the martial artists to control their body, and the yogis, gurus, and various saints of all sorts, to control their mind. You can utilize more potential in the brain through the processes of meditation or hypnotherapy, the Wester answer to the various systems. If you want to know more about meditation from scratch, I recommend Tibetan Wisdom for Western Life. Anyone can do it in everyday life, all it takes is 20 minutes a day, at most.
If you want to study self hypnosis, I suggest Hypnosis For Beginners, by William Hewitt.
That is theory. What can you achieve in practice? Well about anything. The grandchild of my instructor was able to move small objects with the power of her mind, just barely, but still. So, I would think if you can perform minor telekinesis with enough training, you can do it all. The sky is the limit. Good Luck.

You use 100% of your brain all the time. I'm not sure where the 10% myth started. You may only be consciously aware of 10% of your activity, but the other 90% is constantly working, sending action potentials, managing neurotransmitters, regulating your cardiovascular, respiratory, and endocrine system, etc. Since you can't use more than you have, you can't really improve your brain usage percentage.

I read once that we only use 10% of our brain. But now i can't remember what percent of our brain we use. (sorry, was that a stupid comment?) But seriously, the ppl who use more, like Einsten, use maybe 11 or 12%. It doesn't take much. Sometimes I try to use more but it only gets me into trouble.

It is actually about 5% being used. If anyone used 100% of their brain all at once they would be able to fly.
