Here's the thing about that, though it is horrific, they weren't killed BECAUSE they were Christians, the Nazis killed them because they saw them as Gypsies, or homosexuals, or Poles, or any other type of "under-menschene" the Germans wanted to designate them. The Nazis didn't walk into any given Eastern European town, round up all the Christians, force them to dig a mass grave and them mow them all down in cold blood. They DID do that to Jews.
While it's terrible that anyone was systematically killed by their fellow man, it is irresponsible to compare the two. Could we say the Nazis killed 8 million people with black hair? How many Left-handed people? The fact is that neither raven-haired, lefties, or Christians were as systematically singled out as the Jews of Europe were.

Where are you getting your figure of 8 million Christians? I could find references to 5 million (most of them Polish Christians).

Who Were the Five Million Non-Jewish Victims?

Of the 11 million people killed during the Holocaust, six million were Polish citizens. Three million were Polish Jews and another three million were Polish Christians and Catholics. Most of the remaining mortal victims were from other countries including Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Holland, France and even Germany

This is the information I found from the site listed below. I think the reason why the jews are focused on is the fact that they were the largest percentage. He went for those who were "different" and Christians were the majority. I think your discussing those that fit in the categories of "physically disabled, the mentally disabled and those involved in resistance movements against Hitler" below.

Total number of European Jews killed = 6 millions

Added to this must be those other groups murdered in the death camps such as gypsies, the physically disabled, the mentally disabled and those involved in resistance movements against Hitler.

I thought it was 5 million. 11 million people, 6 million Jews.

I always wondered that too, actually. Granted the Jewish element was intended genocide, you would think the other 5 million would get a bit more of an 'honorable mention'.

People die in every war, and I loathe every death.
Its not the same as people slaughtered with personal intent.
