Pinfalls wins by a 3 count (foot/arm etc on the rope breaks this)
Submission wins by a tapout (foot/arm etc on the rope breaks this as well)
Countout works with a 10 count on the match
Disqualification is when you bring in a foreign object to use against you're opponent. (back in the day if you touched the ref you could get a DQ)
many of the matches are different so there are set rules for each type of match
Some examples of matches:
Cage match: climb over the top and both feet on the ground win
Ladder match: ladders are used to climb to the top to reach the belt. whoever gets the belt wins the match
TLC: this is Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match where usually around four opponents go at it and sometimes tag teams are used. pinfall is used to win or if a belt is on the line the ladder to the belt hanging high wins
Table match: first put through a table wins
Royal Rumble: which is one of the most interesting and fun to watch. 30 superstars one at a time come to the ring within 2 to 5 minutes time intervals and battle to throw each other over the top rope to the ground. when you fall out you are eliminated. last one gets a shot at the WWE Championship.
There are so many kinds of matches and stuff to learn when becoming a fan but i hope this helps.

Yeah its fake to a point. They are still doing everything you see. They just make some of it look worse than it actually is. They do get hurt. As far as rules, they have a story line and they improv alot of it. Mostly they know what the outcome is supposed to be, nost of the time, and they work together to git r done! lol Keep watching and you will figure most of it out.

hardcore match-u r free 2 do anythin
chamber match-pinfall or submission.try 2 escape the chamber
usually,u'v gotta make da opponent tap out or give up.also by pinfall.
if da person touchs the rope while da 123 pinfall or tappin out process,da match ain't over, thaz called rope break.

Pinfalls Submissions Countouts Disqualification ends the match.
To win a title its only pinfall or submission.
During a pinfall if your or the opponents foot is on the rope than it doesnt count.

That all depends on the whim of the scriptwriters, m'lady. They can change the rules on a moments notice.
