I have been a victim of verbal abuse. In my opinion it is just as bad as physical abuse. My experiences with it will always affect me. I divorced because of this. It hurts everyone involved in the family.

This sounds like my marriage a year ago. I couldn't walk out, not becuase i love him but because the kids need a family. I know,i know, not grounds to keep a marriage but in Asian society, it's no go. I had an affair to keep my mind sane. After that, any abuse he hurled at me didn't matter anymore. He eventually realise that he's losing me and started to be nice again. I have given him a 2nd chance and left my lover.
I am NOT asking your daughter to embark on a passionate affair. But give him the cold shoulder for a while make him appreciate her by giving hints or even ultimatum that she can walk out anytime. If he loves her, he'll realise what he did and be apologetic. If that doesn't work, it's time your girl look somewhere else for love.
Good luck!

Absolutely.
Anytime there is abuse in a relationship, the person being abused needs to get out and leave.
Not only is it effecting the couples lives with their constant arguing, they're now affecting their children's lives. They're causing stress upon their kids and are allowing them to witness such hurtful acts.
My question to all women that stay in an abusive relationship and have kids that cry everyday because they're witness to this is, why do you still love him? Why are you sticking around in a place that is not safe for your kids?
If this woman loved her kids she'd take them and go stay with a family member or a close friend. It's dangerous for children to grow up in an abusive environment.

Well that's called just what you said Verbal Abuse and you might want to add Emotional Abuse as well. Also they are Both Abusing the kids ..although I'm sure they both love them
young couple get in to awful ruts and fights and arguments and forget that the kids are watching seeing hearing everything there moms and dads are doing!! The parents have no idea what its doing to there well being . It plain and simply scares the crap out of them and before to long they hate it when mom and dad are in the same room together for fear of whats going to happen..You should sit them both down together and tell them this..Tell them what they're doing to there kids if nothing else and if they want to safe there marriage then they better get themselves some counseling and fast!! Times waisting for those kids!!!

Yes it could be called that but the bottom line is it's abuse in every sense of the word. I feel your pain - I went through the same thing until I had enough (which didn't take long for me). Someone needs to talk to her when she's not upset and tell her to think what it is doing to the little ones. She's probably feeling as low as low can get and don't feel she can make it with 3 little ones by herself. If she want leave, maybe someone can talk him into leaving. This situation is not good for the little ones in years to come.

Any form of abuse is grounds for a divorce, now days you don't need grounds! This works for males and females!

This is abuse, and no one deserves to be abused. This is also hurting the children, so instead of giving them safety and security in their home, they are living in chaos. It is never good to argue or fight in front of children.

Irreconcilable differences is the reason often given for divorce when two people cannot get along and have grown apart. No one has to prove infidelity, so it is better than it was in the past.

Tell your daughter next time things start getting out of hand to call the cops and ask to have him removed. Have her claim that she is afraid that he may hurt her or the kids. The best thing she can do for the kids is either work things out or get out with them. If she has to leave the house, so be it. If it comes down to divorce, she can ask for the house in the divorce.

i take it this is your daughter in a bad marraige? well unfortunatly you have to live with the fact your daughter is co dependent on this abusive relationship. as for your grandchildren, i'm so sorry they are in the middle of this. if you really want to help, offer to take care of the kids no and then so the two can go to counseling or even a date. i am not saying you are like this but my parents NEVER offered to take care of my kids so me and my ex husband could go out on a date, or even to counseling. we ended up so stressed and tired and angry and well it was too late for them to try to help when me and the ex were divorcing. i wished they would have put their "concern" to good use.
