study to be a doctor but practise your singing as a way to help you deal with stresses of study etc. that way you can keep your voice in shape and hopefully eve improve it. just keep asking if you can go to an audition and possibly ask her to come along as a chaperone

Do both, I'm a serious musician in high school, I try to keep my grades at about C level. Work hard in school and singing, just think of singing as a sport or other extra curricular activity. Only about 1% of musicians hit "the big time".

Listen to your mom, but ultimately it is YOUR life and YOU must decide. No matter what you choose, the choice has to be yours because you must live with it. Follow your heart. Don't do anything just because you think your mom will be more pleased. She may have some strong suggestions about your life, she's your mom, but when all is said and done, SHE'LL BE PROUD OF YOU for whover you become, as long as you're happy ;-)

Be a singer. If your family doesn't want to you to be a singer, too bad for them. If it is your dream, follow it.
