Because there are last minute stays of execution, and the appeal process continues until the person is actually put to death, you would be obligated to do whatever was needed to maintain the person's health. If you refused to provide medical attention, it would amount to a cruel punishment, which is illegal. Also, if the person died from the inaction, and was later determined to have been innocent, the state or federal government would have quite a suit on their hands on behalf of the surviving family members.

It would be considered an inhumane execution. The idea of an execution is to put the inmate through as little suffering as possible
