So many to choose from but I guess it would have to be Thunder Road, because it fills a whole story out. Honorable mention are Rosalita because it's so 'him' at the time; and Sandy 4th of July, because it's so Jersey shore! 'ja here the cops finally busted Madame Marie? For tellin' fortunes better than they do...' anyone who ever went to Asbury Park in the '70's should get chills down their spine...
OOH, one more... Atlantic City, can ya tell I'm from Jersey? Very 'angst-y' song...another one I have to listen to 3 or 4 times before I go on...

War, no matter what the year is it fits with the what is going on in the world. I really like the one his live album, where he talks about his dad saying he can't wait for the army to get a hold of him and cut his hair and make a man out of him, then when he was drafted he didn't come home for a few days and when he did he told his dad he did his testing to get in and he failed and his dad responded saying he was glad.

But really has he ever had a bad song? they are all good.

ooh there's a few .... the everyday guy, his passions and politics who writes songs that interlace tenderness with passion, melancholy with nostalgia ..... ok mine would be:
dancing in the dark - sparky lively and crackling lines
brilliant disguise - tender
cover me - as above
glory days - coming of age & looking back in sun-gold tinted lenses
hungry heart - same reasons as dancing in the dark
im on fire - wooh!
streets of philadelphia - really deep song (i liked this song better than the film)

"Born to Run" because of the throbbing horns and also the awesome line about strapping yourself to my engines.
