i own a repair shop,and believe me its not the clutch on it,i think the shaft that hold 2nd and 4th gear may have broken on it,,or slipped back,,and if it did it wont ever go in those gears,and i can tell you from experience that is cost more to repair that one than it does to just buy a good used one for it,i do this everyday for a living,and just got done doing a ford ranger with the same problem that yours has,and they wanted more for the parts to fix it with .so i bought a good used one,and saved a lot of money,it will cost way more than the transmission is worth to repair it,just find a real good used one and put in it,and while your at it replace the clutch also,good luck i hope this help,s.

One shift rod roll pin is broken off the rod moved slightly and now you can only move the first third shift rod. There might be hope tearing down the gear box. That is if there was not any other problems before this happened. Syncros worn gear grinding on down shifts ECT. replace the clutch and surface the flywheel while your in there.

Sounds like you may need a new transmission. If any of your gears go out that means they are stripped and that means you either have to replace the transmission or rebuild it.

sounds like the counter shaft broke or a bearing failed.
get it to a professional.
if you keep using it, the metal shavings in the fluid will make it too bad to even rebuild.
