Well, the traffic lights don't take the pictures, the camera equipment does. But, if you activate the red light runner camera, there will be a flash, but the flash comes from a flash unit no where near the traffic signal.

hi no its not the actual traffic light itself that flashes and not all traffic lights have them but if they do usually there is a tall grey box at the side of the traffic light and that will be the object that flashes its exactly the same size as the normal yellow gatso speed camera but grey and at the side of the traffic lights if you do go through it yes it will flash twice once to record your speed and the 2nd flash to catch you passing through a red light hope this helps

NO, well at least not all of them. If the traffic light syour going through have a (what looks like) Gatso camera close to it then it will flash. If there is no yellow box camera then there is no record.

Depends on what you mean exactly. There are some traffic light junctions where there are cameras situated behind the lights to catch any drivers doing one of 2 things. Either jumping red lights or of course, speeding. You would only find these cameras at usually busy junctions though, such as ring road roundabouts that are light controlled, or cross road junctions.

The traffic light no, it would confuse the other drivers.
However there are camers that are attatched to the light that will flash as you go through the red

The camera lights that we have here in the Pacific Northwest don't flash -just the camera flash taking your picture.

there is usually a flash box camera on the corner pointed into the intersection. When you break the cross walk scale on a red light, it will trigger the camera.
