Is this true that on your 21st birthday you can get free drinks in the bars? Some guy told me that but I don't know if it's true. I am 21 today and I though why not use this opprotunity, I live in California by the way.

Happy Birthday! I live in Cali too. I haven't heard of bars giving out free drinks on your 21st b-day, but maybe it depends on what bar you go to and how well you know the bartender/bar owner.

Tell me the truth. Are you that naive to believe that line of crap? If so and you are 21, then you have the maturity level of a 16 year old. Think about it. With the LAW cracking down on underage drinking, do you really think a bartender will not be watching you with a jaundiced eye to make sure you don't get too lit. Seeing it's your birthday I'd cut your a-- off at maybe two drinks, let alone allowing you Carte' Blanche to get f-cked up and then unleash your new new found alcoholism on an unsuspecting public. Get real!!!!

I've actually seen that nine times out of ten people do get a drink on their 21st. On my 21st in particular we went to four different places and overall I scored two shots and two beers. It depends on the place's reputation for giving out drinks for the most part. Otherwise it's your birthday, your friends should be picking up the tab anyways.

It depends on the bar. It is not a state or federal law, as far as I know, but there are probably bars that will give you free drinks on your 21st birthday. There is probably a limit, though. A lot of alcohol could be given away without one.

It depends on how well you know the people at the bar. If you're new to one, the answer is usually "hell no." But if it's at a bar you go to a lot, maybe like 1 or 2 drinks.

Depends on the bar. Some give you one free drink or free covercharge. I know of a store that gives you a free six pack. I don't know any place which gives you free drinks for the whole night though.

To be honest chicks have a better advantage on getting free drinks more than guys .... back in my parting days i got free drinks regardless of my b-day or not .... If you hang with your friends I am sure they would purchase your rounds its customary with me and my friends the b-day gal gets free rounds and all my friends by that day for me and visa versa if its free you want you can still get a free meal at Dennys no matter what age.... or gender... have a blast and dont forget to get a designated driver

That is true, just make sure you bring your friends with you.. because they will be the ones buying. If you think the bar will serve you for free, then you might get an unexpected birthday wish.... "Happy birthday.. you bum...now get out of here"

If you have arranged a party in the Bar on your 21st Birthday- you can have it as per Bar rules and regulations.

In WI, a bar will give you ONE free drink if you prove it's your Bday. Most people barhop all night, having one drink at each bar.
There's LOTS of bars here, so it's easy!
