My 2 GB Black nano scratched pretty easily, and one time I couldn't turn it off....the solution to that was to let the battery die and when I recharged it, it worked fine.

i have a 4G black and white screen iPod and i never had any problems with it exept the scratches if you do not protect it correctly.
