I see driving lessons are quite the issue in Britain! Not so much here in the US...most schools offer "Driver Education," which does indeed help out with learning to drive properly and gives practice in doing so, and further, people who have taken such courses get a discount in their insurance, so financially it makes sense. As for the number of people under 21 who are involved in accidents, well, people that age are more likely to take risks, drive too fast, make misjudgements of various kinds, and that age group has more accidents and more deadly ones than any other age group as a result. Insurance statics show this clearly and that is why their insurance rates are higher for this age group. So it isn't that driving lessons are expensive or inadequate so much as it is the mentality of the driver....

Prices of driving lessons are not too bad if you consider the price of them 15 years ago. For about £10 you could get a lesson, that was when i remember fuel being a mere 49.9 pence per litre. Now the cost of fuel has doubled since then, and i think i searched a lesson for this topic from a local driving school for £15 pounds per hour. So in terms price i think its reasonable. Of course, once you pass your test, you have monster insurance to pay to keep on the road. Stick to busses if you are able to. If not, get a little car and drive it carefully.

Defiantly expensive although this does depend on how many lessons you actually need, the expense once you have passed is even greater with buying a car, insurance, tax, mot and petrol. It's so worth it though. I would do it sooner rather than later as it will just get more expensive and the tests will also get more difficult . Go for it and good luck.

Actually High performance driving schools are a bargan. Drivers education is a JOKE! Over 5,000 15/21 year old kids are killed each year because we parents do not send them to car control and skid classes. Write your school district Tire Rack and The Drivers Edge have just the lessions we need to teach before sending young drivers out into the MEAT GRINDER.

it can be more expensive if you were to choose a cheaper instructor it worth paying the extra i.e. bsm or aa driving school as the instructors are better i think and yes it i s expensive and the cheaper instructors not well known will hesitate more to put you in for your test until they gat a few more lessons worth of money out of you

Theyare as reasonable as you let then be.
If you go to a large organisation like the A.A they are very expensive,if you go to a local driving instructor like i did ,they are quite reasonable.
I passed first time with mine and he charged £14 a lesson, 5 years ago.
