onewhowantsanswers is not totally correct on his/her info. WIC does pay for formula. I am on WIC and it is paying for my daughter's formula. Which is a blessing because she is on Neocate Infant which is REALLY expensive. Her GI doctor had to provide a RX for it. But before that, she was on Goodstart Soy and they also paid for that.

Unless you make like 50k a year you should be fine. My husband makes close to 40k a year and we still qualify. Call your local Wic office and ask them what the income requirements are. And it also depends on the size of your family. It doesn't hurt to check it out. Wic is a lot less picky then food stamps, I don't qualify for food stamps at all not even close but I can get Wic.

Well to my knowledg you have to be lower income family to get WIC. But if you are not married you can go in there and say you are a single parent.
Because I know it may not seem like you all are lower income but things may be a little tight now.
Trust me I know.

It is based on financial need, but apply you'd be surprised you will probably qualify. The income levels are mush higher for WIC than food stamps etc.

You do have to qualify for WIC. It's based on the total income for the household.

I like that--"financially challenged!" that's cute.
Anyhow, there's definitely an income cap, it's not just for any couple in the US who had a baby.

It's based on your income and how many people are in your family. In FL a family of 5 has to make less than $1465 a month. If you want to check it out, call your local health dept.

For a family of four the income limit is like 32,000. For a family of three I believe it is 27,000. But that is in Alabama. It depends on where you live. But it is pretty lax and not near as hard to get as food stamps.

It's only for the financially challenged. We couldn't get it even when my husband was on unemployment for a couple of months.
