Do you think the U.S. will become the laughing stock of the world politically if Hillary Clinton or another woman becomes president?

Holly and the like - You're not breaking anything to me. I'm well aware that women are and have been political leaders of countries, including mine. I'm simply asking how YOU (you and everyone else out there) would feel about it. There's got to be something to the fact that the U.S. has never had a woman president.

My own standpoint is that of course I wouldn't be embarrased to have a woman president/PM. An incompetent one, maybe not so embarassed as upset.

Absolutely not!!
We certainly can't provide any more tragi-comedic material to the world than we do now anyhow. I believe we need to retire all of the men in politics and have women clean up the mess men have made for the past century or so.
Trouble is, men have given us such a culture of violence and machismo that any woman we choose will have to be manly or what men and Babs Bush would label as a "rhymes with witch"- i.e. either a Condie or a Hillary.

I am not so sure about Hillary Clinton as president but I certainly would never, ever support Condoleeza Rice! She is the biggest patsy for this corrupt and confused administration and just another oil-soaked good old boy as far as I'm concerned. Her background is as a reactionary anti-communist hawk, a relic we don't need for damned sure, and I've heard she's totally unconcerned about environmental issues, which will become increasingly key to world security.

Just like the Reagan regime redux, her administration would just recycle the same clowns we've got in there now. We need fresh air, fresh ideas, and a remembrance that we are a goverment of the people, by the people, for the people- not corporations and fat cats.

Surely there is a woman out there who will fit the bill and it should be soon. Trying to export "democracy" when our leadership is still less than 20% female and we have never even had an African-American vice-president, much less a female one, is really poor form!

Why should you be embarrassed by having a female president? If the person is good enough it should make no difference what gender they are. Women rule the world in any event. Ask any man.Beware however. Here in the UK we had a prime minister called Thatcher. She was evil and very dictatorial. Power made. Apparently she never let any man finish a sentence. At one stage she was the most unpopular prime minister of all time and was only saved by the Falklands war. She never really needed a cabinet as she never took any notice of what her ministers said.

No, the United States wouldn't be the laughing stock of the world because in Libyra, Africa they have just elected their first woman president and theirs a first time for everything.

No, because some of the other countries are in the same boat that we, the men that are running their countries ain't doing @**! either, perhaps a woman would put some light on things around here because it's pretty dark right now and besides It couldn't heart

Argentina didn't laugh long when Margaret Thatcher was in charge of Britain.

A woman President would be taken as seriously as she deserved to be. Hillary would be a joke, especially with Bill back in the White House. He'd have all the fun and none of the responsibility.

Secretary of State Rice is not laughed at by other nations, and wouldn't be as President either.

I would not be embarassed if a woman were president; certainly no person of EITHER gender could be as embarassing as the person presently warming the chair in the Oval Office. The only way to go from here is up.

Hi,
Though she just recently passed away and was republican, I would have loved to see Ann Richasrds and Hillary Clinton come together and run for president.
There might be some discrepancies as to who would serve which role.
I feel that it is time to get these pompous yahoo fraternities who run Washington in line.
Unaccountability, seems to be their order of the day...

Not if the right women ( not Hillary) was President. Take a look at England when Mrs.Thacher was Prime Minister. The Brits never had it better. The right women can do the job as well as a man.
