john has give a right opinion
1. but other wise if you want an extra coat you can can go ahead and do it from an authorised place as it is a mercedes-benz you dont want to screw it up
2.but again if you your car has good gloss i would not bother to give any extra coating you can give clear coat after some years if it is really required and normally all cars have clear coat except the Solid colours
3. if it is brand new car do not clear coat it again if it is already with clear coat it would be point less
if you want to find out what colour is your car your engine side ( or the door side ) secition should have a plate where all the information about the engine & chassis number are given there you can find your colour code too it should be a 3 -4 number code then you can just check it online my puting it on google i think you may find it for sure what exact colour is you vehicle
Or you can find it from you owners manual

If the clear is flaking cracked dull the trouble will show thru your new paint job a couple years from now. Almost all cars these days are clear coated. Test sand and see if color is on the sand paper. I reccomend on German cars starting from bare metal costly but the only way to do it right.

yes. As long as the old clear is in decent shape with no cracking or peeling it will be fine to paint over it. Just be sure to give it a good scuff sanding so your new paint will stick
