If you have lost a good amount of hair on your head, you can see a "dome" up there, or your head hair mainly consists of the fringes around your ears and neck, then you are bald.
If you are well past your early twenties and you have a bald spot up there, you are bald.
If your hair still pretty much covers your head, and it is thinning, then you are balding.

if you use the term "balding" people might think your dumb, because that is wrong grammar. and it sounds funny. so you are BALD. not balding.
