Is there a difference between an accounting and financial certification?

Or is it pretty much the same? Can you work in finance with a CPA? I'm writing a paper on Accounting designations and I'm having a difficult time narrowing down the designations... any ideas on a good paper would be great!!!

Accounting is always better than finance. You can always work in finance with an accounting background, but not vice versa. So, go for accounting.

Of course you can work in finance with a CPA. When you get a financial certification you only have the basics, you have to continue your education in Accounting and test like the bar exam for Attorneys to become a Certified Public Accountant.
