I am having trouble playing the chord F
I can't get my first finger to play both of the strings in the first fret.
I don't know how to hold my hand/wrist, and i don't know if i should use the side of my finger or not, cuz my guitar teacher said it might be easier if i used the side of my finger..
anybody who plays guitar and could give me any tips on the chord F, please answer!!!

You should just practice playing it with the first finger covering strings 1 and 2 and the middle finger covering string 3. Add the ring finger after you have mastered the 2 finger method. It is hard, but once you get it, it will be a valuable fingering to know. This is because you can move it up one fret and get F# chord, move it up another fret and get G chord, up another fret and get G#, etc. It is one of the most important "moveable" chords to learn. Hang in there, keep trying....you'll be glad you learned it.

Practice and build up your callouses. F is a big stumbling block for new players, don't give up, it will get easier. Learn some barre chords next. ROCK ON

you should do what i did
you shoul hold the bar of the f chord so you can get used to it
it sure did work for me
but if you really cant do it, try to make up broken chords without any bar for f
broken chords are made up chords but sound just hte same
many bands use broken chords these days
