Supper is an late lunch mostly on the us east cost
Dinner is the last meal of the day

Growing up in NJ, we used to say "dinner." Living in PA, we say "supper." I believe dinner is more formal and supper is a casual get together.

Dinner is the main meal of the day.
If you eat your main meal (Dinner) in the evening, then the lighter meal at midday is called lunch.
If you eat your main meal (Dinner) at midday, then the lighter meal in the evening is called supper.

You eat either Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner -OR-- Breakfast-Dinner-Supper.

dinner - but if we eat really REALLY late (like 10 or 11) I call it supper. I have no idea why.

i usually say dinner, because to me supper sounds to much like whats up, or just sup. im not asking someone how they'rr doing im asking for dinner!
