thats a good question my friend but if i may I deal with pool tables first whats on it...if its just alot of chalk build up or dust then a vaccum will clean it nicely NO tables brush..and it depends who makes the cloth. is it fuzzing up bad..if so have a way to tell you how to fix that..if its a stain then theres woolite..seeing that felt is wool you really got to be careful with it..do NOT scrub it hard but take a clean dry cloth (after you put cleaner on it) and dab...if you can add to this & i will try to get back to you & help out as much as i can OK??

Go to a store that sells pool tables and ask for a felt cleaner brush...I'm sure that's not the technical term for it, but that's what I call it.

first do a small area at a time by rubbing with an Ice cube. This will make wax hard and brittle. sweep as much as you can with medium bristle brush. The lay on a couple layers of a paper towel and heat with an iron to melt wax and draw it into towel. Again, Small are at a time. Then kill the kids. Just kidding.
