Personally I will never think of a homosexual relationship as a marriage and it doesn't matter how many times you try to tell me otherwise, it is not going to work. That said, how can we as a society tell people that we are willing to deny them the ability to share their benefits at work, their property rights, or the ability to speak and care for the person they chose to spend their life with because of which partner inserts what where? I think parliament should say, here is a law that allows for people to form a cooperative personal union and these are the economic benefits we are willing to extend. If you want to have a religious or community leader to officiate over the formation of this agreement and call it a marriage, partnership or whatever, that's your business. Just don't expect us to force your opinion on what this legal privledge is on any other citizen of this country. If Steve does anything less than that, he needs his *** kicked.

I think it is a bit late for revoking that law. What do we say to people who got married, oh gee it isnt legal. Companies are already starting to change policiy on Spousal Support benefits etc. If he changes it now, it will cause chaos and then people will move. If stuffy old England recognizes it so should we.
