Don't use NIS. Uninstall it and use something like AVG or Avast! (both free) and you will have a lot fewer problems. And your computer will run faster too. =)

I had the same problem right after I got the new internet explorer. All I have to do is restart my computer and it works again. It happened less and less until it eventually stopped. Good luck!

You need to learn how to configure it properly. It takes time to get it right so that it protects you without hindering your browsing. To make it easier, turn on the learning mode which makes it prompt you for what action to take each time. As it learns based on your choices, it will prompt less and less.
