You did what was right for you.
You can't live for someone else.
He should have gotten that outta his system when he was a teenager like everyone else did!!

Sounds like his second childhood is in full swing. Maybe he didn't even notice you divorced him because he was stoned.. Only you can decide if it was the right thing to do or not, but unless you started smoking with him then you would never be able to see the humor in his buzzed world. At 50 yrs old you should have a reliable partner and not have to be the mother figure for his childish rebirth. Don't blame him or be too harsh on him because I really don't think he did it to cause problems with you, he just has something to go through in his life.. it happens sometimes when two people find themselves choosing different paths.

At 50, he knows better than to throw his life down a toilet of pot...pot is fine in moderation....here and there. But when drugs become a life style, it is not pretty at 18...it is ugly at 50. And there is nothing funny about a 50 year old stoner. IN fact, it is pretty sad to throw away a marriage for any kind of drugs, and that includes alcohol or whatever. Good luck And yes, Pot destroys drive and ambition..you did the right thing. IF he had done it for sex, that is one thing...but to live stoned is just stupid.

over the lazy and irresponsible , you did the right thing. pot smoking in MY opinion is not that bad , if it doesn't make you lazy an irresponsible! some people can smoke it after a very hards days work an find it relaxing. no , you did the right thing because he was just a pot head!

I would bet the lazy and irresponsible was there before, but you probably did the right thing. I might have tried leaving him first, to see if he would straighten up. But if you already divorced him, why are you second-guessing yourself. You can't go backward, and don't let him talk you into a second chance.

OMG, did you marry my ex??? (just kidding)
Lady you did the right thing, especially if you have kids. I tried to get mine to a counselor, u name it, he wouldnt change. Could be, yours will...have you noticed any changes since the divorce? sounds like you might still care some about him? I found that my ex was HIGH more than not...I couldnt take it anymore after 20 yrs, and he went to bigger and better things if u know what I mean, so there was no choice, I had to go. Good Luck, and God Bless..

You made your choice, you know what you are doing. It's nice to see that there are women out there who are not afraid to be alone and without a man. You did good, you refused to stand for anything.

You did what you felt was right under the circumstances and its nobody elses business but yours. I just hope you sued him for everything that you were legally entitled to. He may have found it funny but he sure wouldnt have had he gotten caught and arrested and lost everything he had. I agree with you.
