I understand, we just recently gone through this as well. My husband is very honest and does not know what the reason is either. He does agree that he has been feeling more stress lately. ....The culprit was Depression. I finally made my husband go see our doctor. I also went along with him. He is now taking Cymbalta. It took about 1 1/2 months of him being on his med to start enjoying and taking a lead role again. His sex drive is definately coming back again. It is just taking patience and time. Good luck and keep being encouraging, and supportive and patient. It will get better with a little time.

It would be nice had you said something about his age. Make an additional comment and perhaps we can help. Thanks
At 27, and no sex drive, he has medical problems that need to be looked into immediately. Disappearance of sex drive is related to loss of testosterone. IF his climaxes are thuds/duds, NO testosterone. Financial and emotional stress is a huge killer of sex drive. Guilt is a huge killer of sex drive. He says it is not because of you..well, take him at his word...but don't be stupid either, it may be because of him. I do not want to arouse suspicion where none is due. But you asked, and I will expound in the most vicious of ways...all of which could be the case:
1) there is another woman...if you can account for almost all his time, cross this off your list..it ain't happening. Women demand a lot of time, and if he has none, there is no "other woman" who would put up with a quickie and nothing else
2) There may be another man...more common than you think. IF you can account for all his time, but a lot of that time is with his buddy, open your eyes. But if you can account for all of his time and it IS not with a buddy, then cross that off your list.
3) If you have crossed these off your lists, then it is time to take a good look at yourself....USE THE DOUBLE MIRROR technique like you see in clothing stores...you know, the ones where you see yourself as others see you, not as you are used to seeing you in the mirror..sort of a backward thing. IF your first glance upsets you, then get to work. If it does not, then we are back to the top of the page...medical. Tumors can do all kinds of terrible things..he needs to have a check up immediately, take this up with specialists....and VIAGRA is NOT the answer..you said sex drive, not ED...very different things. Good luck and I hope all is ok..I mean that.

My husbands sex drive did the same thing. My husband is 47 and first started experiencing this problem about age 42. When men get older they also go through male menopause. Along with aging factors including constricted blood flow to the penis. We went like this for about 2 years before he was brave enough to talk to the doctor. 65% of men over 40 have some type of sexual dysfunction. This is a serious problem and not talked about. Have him talk to his doctor. And by the way, Cialis is not too bad either. It saved our marraige. Even though he says its not you, you feel it is you. Been there. Good luck!

I think that you are describing a conditions known as Inhibited sexual desire (ISD). The person with ISD fails to initiate or respond to their partner's desire for sexual activity.
ISD is a very common sexual disorder. The most common cause of ISD seems to be relationship problems wherein one partner does not feel emotionally intimate or close to their mate.
The other causes are communication problems, health problems such as depression, insomnia, excessive stress.
Treatment is required by the professional therapist and it depends on the eliminating causes listed above.

If you guys aren't having relational problems, then maybe he's just in a stressed time in his life, which for guys really makes it difficult to be turned on.
Find out what's stressing him out and do something to take that off his plate, somehow, and see if he doesn't start feeling a little more amorous.
You might also try initiating, in a fun and different way than he would normally expect.
