My moms friend, whos the mom of one of my friends, called me and my best friend lesbians because i was huging her after a really depressing encounter with an ex boy friend.I was telling her it was alright and all that good stuff that friends do for each other.I didnt say n-e thing to her, the mom, but i did give her a go to hell look and went into my room were we could talk. the mom was sitting in my living room talking to her daughter about how rude i was being and that when my mom was going to beat my *** when she ot home. i didnt say n-e thing to her, but i was upset. she left before my mom got home at 430when my mom got here i told her what hapened and requested that she,the mom,not be aloud into our house.my mom agreed that i shouldnt have to be uncomfortable in my house and that she had no right to say what she did.It wasnt the first time the mom had said something like this to me.My mom gave ne permission to call her and tell her she was no longer welcome in our home. Was i wrong?

Yes, you have every right to be upset. If she is calling you any name she is the lesbian. She is just showing jelousey!

I doubt she has a legal claim to your daughter where visitations are concerned, but you need to weigh your discomfort with having her around against any possible benefits your daughter could glean from continued association with this woman. She was, after all, a large part of your ex-wife's life. Strange questions are going to be an occasional par for the course given the fact that she left you for a lesbian relationship. Awkward though that may be, those questions are not necessarily a bad thing since that's exactly what happened. It stands to reason that there will be gaps in information about her mother that only this woman can fill. It may well turn out that it is more "problematic" to avoid the issue than to allow her to have her questions answered. Ultimately, I believe you are correct in thinking the decision is yours. Maybe you could follow your daughter's lead to determine whether or not visitations are welcome or warranted. Assuming you have no safety concerns where this woman is concerned, maybe you could suggest a visitation schedule more to your liking. This gives you the appearance of extending the olive branch while exacting a greater measure of control than might be possible if someone else intervenes. Good luck in this regard.

No you aren't wrong if you were offended by her remark, however we are all responsible for our own feelings. Anyone can say anything but you choose to be upset. For example, I'm a woman who hugs her girlfriends often, it's the kind of person I am. If someone accused me of being a lesbian, I wouldn't be upset, even though I'm not a lesbian, but I don't have a problem with lesbians because their sexual preference is their business, not mine.

It was an insult to you and it wasn't true therefore, no, you are not wrong for banning her Mother from your house. I would get over it. It only bothers you IF you let it, so don't let it!
I agree that her Mother was out of line to have accussed you of having a sexual encounter with her daughter. It was uncalled for.
I would think your friend is ashamed of her Mothers behavior. The sooner you get over it the sooner it is forgotten.

Absolutely not.. When you are a guest in someones house. you must remember your place..... It was not proper for her to speak to you like that.... It tells me she is very close minded and has very narrow vision...... I think that the world is filled with people like her who don't have alot of experience and are very judge mental without having the proper knowledge ....
I am sure that she will probably think that she is correct in her assumptions...
If we go around life with blinder s on, we will never see the truth.
I wouldn't be upset by her reactions... she is obviously very naive and there is no way in her state of mind that she would understand your actions... Chalk it up to a negative experience....You have to wonder why alot of parents really don't understand their children, when you have someone react as she did.

sounds like an over protective mother, maybe her daughter IS a lesbian, or maybe the mom has some kind of supressed tendencies towards lesbianism.

Are you a lesbian? If so, why would that offend you? If you aren't a lesbian, you know that so why would it offend you. It's silly talk, don't let her get to you!
People usually hate the one thing that they are the most themselves. Perhaps she's the lesbian?????

Sometimes people "project" things onto others because they can't face those things in themselves.
Maybe your friend's mom is a closeted lesbian herself!

No you were not wrong. She has no right to come to your home and make you uncomfortable-much less say unpleasant things to you!
