Sometimes the connection gets resistive if there is corrosion at the terminals on the battery. This is more likely with a post type battery, but is not impossible with side terminals. If this all checks out, sometimes there can be an intermittency inside the battery itself. It may test good, but a major amperage draw (such as starting the car) may expose the problem.

Just remove the cables from the battery, clean the terminal ends on both the battery and cables with a wire brush, reinstall and tighten them. You need to keep a clean and tight connection there.
Good luck..........

How come so many people that drive cars don't know how to maintain them. There is always someone who dont know how to repair cars are the going to tell you how to fix yours
Take it from a mechanic and do this.
OK do this. Go to the auto store and buy 2 new clamps. Replace the clamps, and buy one of them little battery cleaner. Clean the post. then cut off the old clamps and install new ones

Why do this and not just tighten them. Well you said that you have to play with them every once in a while. And it showes me that not only are the clamps junk but so is the post.

Mercedes Benz truck Ford F-150 Chevy!!!! We Yamster mechanics need to know. Some top post batterys have problems inside the battery if the terminals were hammered on. Poor connection due to hidden corrosion on side post batterys like chevys have. So next add year make model and mileage.

Clean the battery posts AND Cable connectors. Make sure connections are snug to the battery posts when you are finished. Also check the connection ao the hot wire to the starter. Clean it and tighten.

you need to clean and tighten the terminals and cables at the battery the starter and the ground on the frame and body. if the cables are showing bare wire it would be a good idea to change them out

u have to tighten your battery cables, they are lose and wont send enough juice to start your car. simple solution, clean the terminals and then tighten the cables, that should do the simple fix :)

ok, if u had not yet replaced the cables u might want to do that, but i think the terminals just need cleaning and tightening.

dont listen to sun, a new truck isnt nessary

i own a repair shop, and id say its time for some new cables,,especially and it starting to get cold weather,,id replace both of them to make sure it started good this winter if you don't it may get you out somewhere and not start back, this will also make it not charge the battery real good ,so id put them on there, there a cheap repair ,,compared to a tow bill, and a bill from a mechanic ,good luck i hope this help,s.
