If you like her, that's all that matters, right? Tell your dad to get over it. It's not like she's a bad person for being black or for dating you.

You need to ask him. He has a right to dislike her due to personality issues. Don't assume that he dislikes her because of her race though. In fact, don't assume that he doesn't like her. How long has he known her, or how well does he know her?
This could just be a case of an overprotective parent. Has he been like this with other females of other races or just this one girl? There could be any number of reasons that he isn't "warmed" to her.
Keep an open mind about it. Keep us up to date on things OK.

Im sure you can sit down with your father and explain to him that you are growing up and you have plenty of time in your life to live your life. this is what you need to do is tell him to have trust in you as his parents did to lead your own life as he once made his mind up about the life he chose to live.I am a 55 yr old women white and I have been married to a black man for 36 year,s .we have four beautiful children two boys two girls,i could not have gotten any better than i did when i met him and fell in love.. Yes we are still together and have10 grand children .Young man all in a nut shell, you follow your heart.. And I can,t see your father not under standing your feelings, after you have sat down with him in a peaceful heart to heart talk..Good luck and may you always have the best of luck on any thing you decide to do in your life, God bless. Look for opportunities for your dad and girlfriend to spend time together along with you and your mother. If it's race perhaps getting to know her will allow your dad to see what you see in her. You haven't said how old you are. If you're in high school, he might be feeling you're getting too involved for your age. However, you won't really know until you ask him. When you do, do it respectfully and really listen to what he has to say. But in the end, you have to do what will make you the happiest.

unfortunatly its prob bc of race. his generation is different from ours. because his parents and or grandparents grew up believing that black people are "different" from white people, and should not be together. we, however, look past that. just continue staying with her and your dad will come around to her. let him see what you see. it may take a while but if shes reallly a good person, then thats all that really matters. white, black, brown, yellow, purple, green...its all the same now. finally it doesnt matter! good luck<3

Ask your dad why he doesn't like her and then you and the girlfriend have a goal and can think of ways to overcome whatever is causing the wall to be put up by your dad.

You need to sit down and talk with your dad. It is very important to have an open relationship. Also invite her over and let him get to know her better. I have biracial children. It is usually the parents that are prejudice. Young people are more open and accept people for who they are. Adults are set in their ways. Pray about it also.
