I don't have uch money and my insurance will not pay for infertility. All the free clinics around home and the health department will not help me because I don't fall into the min-max money line. My husband and I only bring home about 2000 a month. HELP.

I can understand yout stress and heartache, many insurances do not pay for infertility which I think is wrong..it IS a medical condition! This is the only advice I can offer you or maybe ask yout ob to try Clomid with you...it is quite inexpensive without insurance.
Try to pinpoint ovulation and have intercourse at those times:
The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

I don't have any good answers, all I know is that my husband and I have been unprotected for 5 years and still nothing. I suggest you talk to your OB/GYN about seeing an endocrinologist. I have been taking Metformin for a few years which is supposed to help with the symptoms of PCOS. Then I started taking Clomid a few months ago. (a fertility drug) But you can only take that when you start a period and without BC I have never been regular. I will go anywhere from 28 days to 9 months between periods. But everyone is different and GOOD LUCK!!

I tried getting pregnant on my own for about a year. Then, I was on Clomid & Metformin for about another year. A few months after I had given up on the fertility medications, I got pregnant. I also have PCOS and my infertility specialist kept doing sonos on me and telling me that I was not ovulating. He said I was not responding to the medication. Believe in miracles. I truly believe my husband's prayers got me pregnant. Have faith!

talk to your doc...Clomid is a cheap route that generally works. I have PCOS and tried for over 4 years to get pregnant. I did Clomid and took metformin to help control the PCOS. Also, diet and exercise work wonders with controlling the symptoms of PCOS.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome causes many things to happen to your body. Numero uno is that your body can no longer "deal" with the insulin it produces tending to lead to large amounts of insulin floating around along with large amounts of glucose because your body isn't using the insulin to properly fight the glucose. Therefore, diet is a very helpful trick in controlling PCOS. Monitor your blood sugar and keep it as steady as you can and watch what you eat.

I too couldn't afford the drastic fertility treatments such as IUI or IVF but desperately wanted a baby. Look up state mandated laws for reproduction assistance in whatever state you live in. Most states in the U.S. have a stipulation that demands that your insurance pay for certain fertility treatments if other things have failed. I know that my state requires insurance companies to pay for ONE IVF if certain requirements have been met. That was going to be my husband and I's next step...fighting with the insurance company to get them to pay...but I ended up getting pregnant on my own while we were taking a break...

Good luck to you! I know it's a long hard road...feel free to look me up if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help with what I can...

well, if you only bring home that much and you fall beneith the money guide lines, shouldn't that tell you something. It will only get harder...But if you feel the need to conceive even though you can't afford a baby or the costs that come with children, then search for books online (barnes and noble) that can give you tips and guidlines to follow. Try to choose the ones written by doctors and/or nurses. Good luck and I hope you put a lot of thought into this.

Check with some of the Fertility specialist, When I was taking shots, tehy cost over $1,000.00 for one month I had over half of them left when I became pregnant with my twins and I donated them back to the office for someone to have that wasn't as fortunate as I. They gave me a tax write off letter. Check a few places and see if they can help you. Best of luck.

Do you really want to have a baby if you can't afford to have one? I have a hard time being able to afford things for my son off of my income. Even with government assistence, unforseen things happen, and you will need more money than that to stay out of the red. You might want to wait awhile on trying to conceive. If you really want a baby though, you can always read books on the best way to conceive without medications. Good luck to you! I wish you the best.

This may sound stupid but try a turkey baster. I heard that it works, also try taking pre natals ahead of time.
