An M.D. is a Medical Doctor while an O.D. is a Doctor of Optometry.

Do you mean D.O. Otepatic Doctors originally used many Chiropratic methods early on in the orgin of their practice. They can do everything a regular Doctor does including writing prescripitions.

OD does not require 4 yr college and its a 2 year program to get cerified a a Osteopath but a MD has to go to med school, do Internship etc before can practice on his own also a OD cannot write precsriptionsl-----
