I don’t really care about what Foley did. He is one guy who did something bad. The fact that the Republican leadership covered it up, it a million times worse because if they will cover up this, they will cover up anything.

Nice sources to back your claim about a "cover up"

So much for the party of acceptance and tolerance. He is simply accused. If guilty, he should face the full force of the law

Yup.
And the so-called cover-up is only stated as such because apparently the page to whom the emails and instant messages were sent told another page about it.
Because of that, it's assumed that all Republican members of Congress knew about it.
There is no proof that they did know. Even if they did, the page's age at the time of the communication is in question. Some sources say he was 16, which is the age of consent in the area where the communication took place, and some say 18, which would make him a legal adult.
Were the emails and IM's inappropriate? Yes, they were an abuse of power.
What Foley did was wrong. He resigned. There is no proof whatsoever that ANYONE else knew what was going on.

Yes, because individual house members represent there districts those are who the people vote for not the political party machines. America is beyond Tammy hall political machine for the most part. We have come a long way from 150 years ago when state legislatures elected politicians to Washington. Representation has become more direct than 150 years be glad your in America in 2006 instead of 1866 where your vote was only a meaningful for presidental or state elections.

You want to believe the Republicans covered it up, but you can not prove that. Yet the democrats found out about Foley early in June and let him roam until the deadline to remove himself from the ballot occured. So which party put children at risk - the one that usually does for political gain - thats which one....the DNC

The only cover-up has been fabricated by the left-wing and they cannot provide any proof it actually happened. The credibility of the Democratic party is taking a major hit with all the lying they are doing. i have came to the conclusion that this small town i live in is ran entirely by Democrats, and especially the Police Department. Every person in the Police Department in a supervisory or leading role has proven to be corrupt, lying about the crime rate in this small Midwestern town, and most of them are engaged in the drug trade, and committing acts of violence to protect the drug dealers. The Republican party can claim to be the only party with values and credibility left.

Well we havent yet evolved into supporting such noble things as killing babies and burning flags of our home land, spitting on troops or collecting welfare. But yes, conservatives have morals where liberals do not. Foley may have been an embarassing part of the conservative party, all in all there is no moral comparison.

I'm confused. Which side are the Republicans taking? First they are against Homosexuality and now they have one in their standings and they knew about it and kept it quiet for all these years. Now are they embarrassed by it now that he has been outed? They accepted it until he gets caught - is that the way it goes?

Yes. We can. We boot those suckers out of office. Your party raises them to god-like status for their sexual scandals--and if (by chance) the Republicans did manage to convict one of your little perverts.............another Dem will pardon them.
