The worst gift I ever got was nothing, I got nothing
What did I do with it? I never forgot how I was treated and made sure I never made someone else feel like I felt

I never got a "worst" Christmas gift. Obviously some have been better than others. It's wonderful time of year for giving and feeling good about it. There is no "worst" in my opinion

I got the same gift every year. A beating. My Dad would come home drunk on Christmas eve in a dirty Santa Costume, tell me that my Mom was a whore and that I was not the fruit of his loins, and then proceed to beat and kick me and Mom as we ran around the tree trying to avoid his blows. He would often make me break my presents that Mom bought with the little money she could hide from Dad by threatening me with a more severe beating if I didn't. He would stand there and watch as I broke my presents, all the time I cried and cried.

Mine was more like the gift I had to give away. We were also poor and usually my brother and I got a combined gift and maybe one or two little gifts. One year when I was about 9 or 10 my cousin (whom I didn't even like) came to visit just before Christmas. My mom gave her one of my presents and told me she would get me another. It was a sticker book. My cousin didn't bring me anything and my mom never bought me the sticker book. I admit it's stupid but for some reason it always bothered me.

One of the worst was when I was in the third grade, 1978, I believe. My grandma MADE me and my three older sisters the ugliest green plaid polyester bell bottoms you have ever seen. We hated them! When my grandma came over, we all had to were them. We looked like we should be in the Brady Bunch Variety show. No offense Grandma!

the year after my mom died, which was a week before Christmas and on my birthday, my sister gave me a lawn paver that had the poem about stairways to heaven and tears bringing you back again....even though my first thought was to put it thru her window i left it on her porch...not the most grownup thing i ever did but emotions were still pretty raw

A toothbrush - from my (now ex) husband. Granted, I had just gotten some serious dental work done that year, but a toothbrush?

And Yoda, your dad better be dead now. If he's not, he better hope I never see him.
