Beging paid to perform sex acts (prostitution) is illegal. Though hardcore porn which is just sex is legal i dont understand either both should be legal or both should be illegal. You must be atleast 18 years old to watch porn but more than 42 percent of guys and 33% of girls ages 15-17 have had intercourse
(Let's Talk About Sex, Melissa Daly. Seventeen Magazine, July 2003.) and More than half of teens ages 15-19 say they’ve had oral sex. (USA Today 9 September 2005. ) So its ok for a 15 year-old to have sex but he has to wait 3 more years to watch it ? Thier is something really messed up with our goverment what is your view on this ? What do you think about all this i put the address of this website at the source spot

prostitution is not illegal every where, in some county's in Nevada it is legal as long as it is confined to a liscened house. i think that there is nothing wrong with this and as for the movies i believe it is illegal for those under the age of 18 to participate in porn movies and i think that that's a good thing. our government is basing its laws on the moral majority's opinion as they have the loudest voice, although it was glamorized, the movie about Larry flint does a lot to explane the problems we have with freedom of expression in this country.

Prostitution was prohibited to stop the spread of sexually transmitted disease. Prostitution is very difficult to regulate and keep the working girls tested for diseases. Adding to that problem, prostitutes have sex with far far more partners in far shorter spans of time than porn performers do meaning they can spread disease much faster in between STD tests. Pornography performers are regulated and must have certain STD tests performed on a regular basis. Porn performers are also not having intercourse with the public at large but within a relatively closed group of performers who are all being tested. Pornography is also an art form and a form of press and is thus guaranteed freedoms under the 1st amendment of the constitution.

i'm sure the law would want to outlaw a large bulk of the sex industry. in fact they once did outlaw it. but the problem is without the billions it generates the economy would slump pretty hard & crime would rise pretty high so it's never gonna happen

i think a lot of research should be plugged into what governments can do to reduce the sexual abuse of children. I heard a statistic the other day which was publicised after research ordered by the UN that one in 3 children have suffered physical abuse at some stage in their lives and one in 9 kids have suffered the sexual kind. so in any given classroom there's a high chance that about three of the kids are being, have been or will be abused sexually. that's a mind-boggling statistic.

& to think that hardly anyone thinks or talks about it

how can the government possibly stop teenager under 18s having sex? Is it physically possibly for the govt to do this? No.

No one really knows what happens behind closed doors let alone control it. Sexual desires are natural and if the opportunity presents itself teenagers under 18s gonna take it, not to mention the peer presure.

I can understand your point about porn vs prostitution. Prostitution is illegal because its about violating someones poor circumstances. Porn star can choose not to have sex if they didn't feel like it and there is profit making industry, where as prostitutes are driven to sell their bodies because they live in very difficult circumstances.

The moral majority doesn't believe in sex before marriage or having sex until you're of legal age...we all know what's happening. If they have cable they've seen porn!!

They are not really having any sex on camera as you supposed and only make the audience think so and in reality you are right paid sex is illegal. These men and women have families and thus will not put there love in the spotlight being on camera as to doing anything illegal.

My humble understanding is that it is *very* illegal to film under-aged individuals in any sexually oriented manner. Period.
