Fenris is the child of Angrboda & Loki his siblings are Hella goddess of the underworld and the Jorgamand serpent (midgard serpent) He is most famous for biting the hand off of the Warrior god TYR or Tiewaz also associated with Justice. Tyr held him down as he was bound ( as is to remain bound untill he is relased at the time of Ragnarok (Twilight of the Gods) at that time heis supposed to swallow Odin after being denied justice, because his betrayer Tyr had already fallen. Fenris is then killed by Vidar ( the silent) with Odins sword. Following that, starts the Fimbul winter (three year's of darkness) It was also believed that the Fenris Wolf devoured the moon at the lunar eclipse. There are a couple of different spellings depending on the region Fenris, Fenrir, Fenrisulfr. they are pronounced Fen' ris
Fen' rear, Fen' ris-ulf-r

He's best known for biting off the hand of Tyr, Tyr knew it would happen but sacrificed his sword hand to rid the land of the threat that Fenris Wolf (eng. trans.of Fenrisulfr) posed to the world. Can't help you with the pronunciation, sorry.

" Fehn Rihs Wool Fuhr "

Most known?
Toss up between
(A) biting off Tyr's hand when the Norse gods betrayed their oath to let him go after chaining him up, or
(B) being the one who shall swallow the sun in Ragnarok.
