SO,

Lou has reportedly taken himself out of the running for two other jobs and it looks like he will be the new Cubs manager.

The reason why he said he didn't want to manage the Nationals is because he deemed them to be in a "rebuilding stage."

As a Cubs fan, I am a little biased, but aren't WE (the Cubs) in a rebuilding mode, too?

We had one of the worst records in the entire league this year.

The Cubs are one of the teams that are always 1 or 2 years away from something special. Look at the Tigers. Didn't they lose 114 games 2 years ago. They brought in Leyland and the team turned things around. I think Lou is a coach who can so likewise with the right team. I guess he figures the Cubs are closer to that team than the Nationals are.

Good luck with Lou...he is fun to watch...especially when he argues with the homeplate ump...he is know to intentionally get tossed from a game just to fire up his team.

It become time. Lou is a mediocre supervisor who has survived on the coattails of the 1990 Reds long sufficient. I do understand his determination to retire now extremely of on the tip of the 300 and sixty 5 days because of ailment of his mom Lou's a super guy, he threw the excellent tantrums ever thrown via an person, yet he's no longer that reliable of a supervisor. The mysteries of pitching staffs have continually eluded him. His incessant use of his acquaintances Norm Charlton and Jose Mesa killed the M's for years whilst that they had one among those super team. and that i'm specific Cubs followers undergo in ideas that debacle in Arizona.

I thought Girardi was going to the Cubs. I honestly thought the Cubs would compete this year, but I was sure wrong about that.
