what's the deal with NASCAR? I've seen many liberals use it as an insult. what's so awful about it? does liking a certain sport make you a bad person? does it bother you that much that people have different tastes and like things you don't like? if you don't like it, don't watch it. but to insult and criticize people who do really makes you look like a self righteous opinionated jerk.

Liberals don't like anything we residents of "red states" do. They enjoy looking down their noses at us "Rednecks". I saw a news program a while back and a lady from back east said she would not travel through many states because "they have guns!". Yes we do!

I suppose it's just because NASCAR tends to represent the conservative states very well in the mind of the folks on the coasts because it's something that just isn't followed by "liberals". My guess is it's meant as an insult in much the way that conservatives say "You guys all like Alan Alda" or so and mean it an an insult.
I think your comment about liberals preaching acceptance but not following it is unfair in this context. It isn't that people have a problem with cars or the racing of it, it just typifies people who think very differently. There is no secret that liberals are more accepting of many different people than conservatives. Saying they dislike people that they see as unaccepting doesn't make them unaccepting; that is very circular logic.

I don't preach tolerance and acceptance. I practise it where the acts I tolerate does not hurt me or mine. When it deprives me of any right or harms my future I don't tolerate it. Why the hell do you believe that liberals have to tolerate and accept things that they are already on the record as being against.Even your venerated Jesus tore up the moneylenders stalls.
NASCAR as an activity is deplorable in a nation that kills people for the oil it takes to produce the gas to race cars round in senseless, pointless circles. The culture that surrounds NASCAR is represented by a the flag of a defeated state that caused more American deaths then any other war the US engaged in and who's main point for existing was the continued enslavement of a kidnapped group whose only difference was the colour of their skin.It promotes a class who disdain education, science or culture which has led to a dumbing down of USA. Why do you people seek to continue to prove the truth of deTourceville's assessment of the US "The USA is a state that has gone from primitiveness to degeneracy without a intervening period of civilization."

I do not like Nascar and am a Democrat. My feeling on Nascar is I probably do not like it because I have not experienced it or had anyone to teach me about it . I do not preach tolerance and acceptance. On many social issues I am flat out opposed and do no accept or tolerate the Republicans position. For example, I believe in a women's right to choose. I do not accept the Republican view point of forcing women to carry their fetus to full term by law . I do not have to accept your position. Do you understand? On the other hand I am not going to hurl Nascar insults at you .
