I had the same problem when looking for a lot of my favourite 80s dvds. I ended up buying the region 1 from Amazon.com and using an unlock code so that my dvd player would play international formats. If you need to unlock your dvd player, try this website:

I have found Outsiders At wal-mart, for about $20.00 if you don't have one in your area try wal-mart.com.
It's one book to movie I can stand with out griping, unlike Needful Things, or any of the Harry Potter stories

The book is excellant. S.E. Hinton is an awesome writer. However, for the movie try ebay or half.com or Amazon.com
