What Profession do you think, we as consumer ,should not tip?

I'm 52 and really resent all the jobs I had as a kid that are now tip able but were not then. So my rule of thumb is to tip everyone who was tip able when I was a kid then tip people who are busting their butts for little compensation, generally speaking that would be any suspected illegal aliens. If they don't speak English I tip em
at the Gas pump, at Drunkin Donuts, etc. and I feel better. There are no professions in the normal sense of the word that deserve tips because they are usually well compensated.

Police officers. Definitely should NOT try and tip police officers. Some unfortunate misunderstandings have happened that way.

Seriously though, for jobs where tips are expected, that is calculated into their salary. They get paid small amounts because it is expected that the customer will compensate them appropriately for the service they are provided.

If one does not want to tip, for whatever reason, fine - then don't request or take advantage of the service. Don't go to a restaurant that you will be waited on, don't have pizzas delivered, pick up your food yourself, check your own bags at the airport...etc.

To take advantage of a service that you KNOW you are expected to tip for, and then not tip, is borderline thievery. The only time not to tip is if you receive poor service.

I actually like tipping. It shows them whether or not they are good at what they are doing for one, and it also shows that you appreciated it. I even tip the people who bring the food out to the car at sonic. So I tip when I deem it necessary in any way. I mean, most of those people rely on the tips. They only make a few dollars an hour. Not even minimum wag.
