pay more attention in class. be sure to ask your teacher for help when you need it. teachers want you to learn, and if you are having problems, they should help you.
make friends with other people who "get it", and have math homework parties.
or you can ask questions here, we will help you.

It's going to take discipline, perseverance, and just plain old hard work. If you're willing, you can do it.
You need to go back to where you understand the math and then work forward again to where the rest of the class is.
You need to read, yes READ, your math book. Each chapter and each section explains the rules of math and gives examples illustrating the explanations. Go back to the explanations and examples when you get stuck.
If you don't know the rules, you can't play the game. So learn the rules and definitions. Learn the terminology of math.
Then do the math homework and don't wait until the last minute to try it. Use your friends, parents and teachers to help you with the math that you can't figure out.
If you show genuine interest and a sincere effort to learn the math, your teacher will be happy to help you before school, during lunch, after school (only a rare teacher won't be glad to help). Find a tutor to help if that's what it takes.
Don't fall behind in math. It moves too fast to play catch up on a regular basis.
Math and English are the backbone of everything you will encounter in life. Excel at these subjects and everything else will fall into place.
Good luck.

Try asking for a tutor. There is more than one way to learn math. There are some tricks that can be learned from a tutor also. An example is multiples of 9. 27 is 9x3, but 2+7 = 9. All the multiples of 9 have that trick.

well the trick is to either get a tutor or see your teacher after class for some help, also find a way to enjoy math you'll pay more attention and absorb more, try thinking about the math your learning and for a day just look at how it relates to things in everyday life
also do all of your homework don't do what i used to do and just study the part you enjoy

If you are really struggling, dont plan on going out for two weeks before the exam. Before you do your other homework, start doing math problems from the book. Check your syllabus for what sections you are responsible, and work the problems in those sections. All of them. Its a tall order, and you might accidentally learn more than you need to (gasp!) but think about it, if you can work every problem, and get them right, then you dont have anything to worry about for the exam. I will grant you, its alot of work, and you can probably scale it back when you get a handle on things, but just try taking a saturday, and work all of the problems in a section. Tell me if you dont _know_ how to do that type of problem when you are finished.

First, during class, take notes on everything. I would reccomend a notebook--Take down formulas, problems, and also do homework in there too.
If you don't understand anything, then make sure you ask your teacher. Don't be shy of raising your hand.
Everytime something new is introduced, make sure you understand it before the class moves on.
Also, make sure you practice math. Do a few problems everyday. Practice your weak spots.
Before tests, do lots of problems from the book, as a studying method. Also, review your notes and review things that you know already, you might forget them on the day of the test.
On test day, I heard from my teachers that singing helps reacquire short-term memory! LOL

Wow. it somewhat is slightly puzzling. Like what form of math are you talking approximately especially? Like ALG 3/4 or Pre Calc? maximum Universities decide to work out atleast Pre Calc. Atleast here in the states they do.

There is no other way but to study. If you read things and then can't remember them, try copying what you read to paper. I find that when I have problems remembering it helps me. Tends to stop that going in one ear and out the other thing that happens when we are bored. Try to study somewhere where it is quiet and lighting is good. If you can, make sure there aren't any distractions, like a growling tummy or headsets. Good luck to you. You'll do fine if you decide to 'like' what you're doing. Don't forget to reward yourself when you do well!!!
