Actually, the best and most powerful I have used are made by "Oster" , called "Oster 76". They have quick detatchable blade sets for each length (1/4, 1/2, etc.) instead of a snap on plastic guard comb. And they also have various cutting blades available for diffrent hair types (pet, human, etc.) On the down side, they are very expensive (about $120) and that doesn't include the diffrent size blade heads. And if you drop them, their shot. But they are the ones most barbers and groomers use because they are so powerful, quiet, and fast.
Oster also makes a good one called the "fastfeed" that is around $40 wholesale-$60 retail that includes guard combs, and works well on wet or dry hair. (A fade blends much easier if cut on wet hair- no lines)
The Wahl brand is usually marketed to non-professionals, with "Oster" and "Ande" brands being more popular with professionals, although also more expensive, but you pretty much get what you pay for...
Look for one that has a "rotary motor", the cheaper ones have a magnetic motor, not as powerful, not recomended for cutting wet hair, and they vibrate really bad.
Don"t get one thats for pet hair. The blades on them are designed for cutting fine, dense, wooly textured animal hair. Human hairs are larger in diameter, and better cut with a human hair blade which has wider spaced teeth.
And unless you go for the "Oster 76", look for ones with an adjustable lever. It makes blending much easier when your going from one length to the next. AJ

My barber insists Wahl. Period.

The best electric chair was made by the Adam's electric chair company in Hamilton, if you can believe it! Nearly 5,000 men have been fried by this hideous contraption. Let's end all state sponsored judicial murder, as the cutthroats who carry out such orders call it, and put the ghouls who assist them by building devices or manufacturing the injectible drugs OUT OF BUSINESS!!! We need to wake up to our own humanity, not make excuses for our shallow and vicious meanness.

Oh, sorry! Wahl is your answer!!!!

The kind you use on a dog. They're heavy duty and meant for thick coats of fur. They are excellent for human hair.
