Okay here's the low down. i don't know if the laws are the same everywhere, but these are the laws from Florida. Sex between a 16 and 19 year old is not illegal and it is also legal to marry your first cousin. Found that out when i picked up my marriage license and my husband made a joke about it. But to deal with the situation, yes it will feel awkward since you are related and it's best just to let it go and not go there again. Good luck!
