I have a wireless internet installed in my house, and on one of the computers, there is some innappropriate internet surfing. I would like to disable only this computer from accessing the internet while still allowing the others to go on. Is there any way to do this without any software, such as through an IP address blocking, and how would i do this?

Taking it off the network completely is the easyest way, just go into network properties and set a static IP to 127.0.0.1

If you need to have it on the network but not access the internet you'll need to set up a static IP again, but you'll have to figure out what IP range it needs to be in to talk to your router. For the most part you can just copy all the 'ipconfig /all' info from a cmd prompt. The only exception is that you want to leave the DNS server blank.

DNS - Domain Name Service - These are the servers that your computer goes to, to find out that, say, www.yahoo.com is located at the IP address 209.73.186.238

You can use mac filtering on the router to do this but it will block the computer from all network resources, not just the internet.

You could try changing the DNS settings on the one computer to make them invalid. It should still be able to access the network, but not the net.

I think.

You can remove all the browsers on that computer like Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera, etc.
