My son is 12 has ADHD and struggles with oppositional behavior and also obesity. I'm looking for a good school for him and can't find anything here in Houston. Boarding school might be an option. Any ideas?

I hope he's not adopted because sending him to boarding school would be the absolutely worst thing you could do to an adopted kid. Kicking him out is no better than abandoning him again like his mother did to him as a baby. All his problems now can be attributed to that one single event and the terrible trauma it causes to its victims, the babies, left alone, with no one, nothing, and their other half, their mother, gone forever.

this is gonna sound rude but just read..your child needs your attention more then he needs a boarding school..there are lots of programs that help kids while not sending them away..and as far as obesity goes try joining a family gym if it concerns you that much.sending your child away before you do all you can do at home is like telling them you give up..

Quit your job, begin a quality home school program and you teach him his education, spend lots of time with him, work out with him and then you will notice that you are a better person, he is a better person and the world is a better place. Good Luck

I know how to cure ADHD! Smack the brat on his butt a few times and that might do the trick.
