or do you have to do pre med first? I know you have to take a test (forgot what it is called) in order to enter into med school ( i want to be a psychiatrist). If I get a bach. in nursing won't this prepare for the test.

I note she said "psychiatry," which is a specialty of an MD, not "psychology," which takes the Ph.D. route. Yes, as at least one other person said, there are certain pre-med requirements, but you can major in anything as an undergrad. Some people take any pre-med courses they are lacking after getting their undergrad degree and before applying to medical school. You could do that. You would also be advised to take an MCAT prep course. Good luck.

You can pretty much go to med school with any degree, as long as you satisfy the schools enterance requirements. Most require that you have taken certain types of classes (chem, bio...) i would check into the schools you are interested in. My friend was an anthropology major and she still went to med school

A bach in nursing could help if you focus in a particular area like Psycology you still would have to study other areas but u can have a specialty but keep asking question ask your guidance counselor

You can get a b.s. nursing before entering med school. However, there is a large difference in preMed coursework and nursing coursework.
