I'm 20 years old and I just started birth control for the first time like 9ish days ago and i've noticed that I'm happy during the day, then when I take the pill at about 5 in the afternoon afterwords I get incredibly moody and annoyed at everyone (and that is very unlike me). I feel bad cos I haven't been so nice to my boyfriend, and tonight my mom got the brunt of it. Has anyone heard of this? Any advice??

Anything that messes with your hormones can make you moody. Stick it out, you'll level out after awhile.
Also, since you recognize that you're being moody, try doing things that you know lift your mood, i.e. chocolate, exercize, sex, whatever trips your trigger

You Can be Moody, you doctor actually warns you of that and other risks when you take birth control. The reason for the mood swings is because of the chemicals trying to balance themselves out. Once you have been on the pill for about two to three months, you will be fine. You just have to put up with this little side effect or have a 18 year one instead...

Other possible side effects of the patch include; bleeding between periods, weight gain or loss, breast tenderness nausea — rarely, vomiting
A girl who uses the patch may also notice a skin reaction at the site of application.
Side effects usually clear up after two to three months of use. If not, a girl may want to speak to her health care provider about alternative methods of birth control.

Birth control changes up your hormone balance which causes you to have mood swings. If you go to like GNC and get mercury, zinc, or iron pills they will help put the balance back that you need to not be so moody. Good luck!!

Birth control pills contain chemicals that are like your hormones. So as one hormones change, with some women their mood changes too

Yes- because it messes with your hormones- I used to take Depo-Provera and I experienced the same thing...

Yes it can, and it can also kill you. There are alternatives to putting that poison in your system.
