we just use the soft brush to prevent and keep it away. But this is what i found online...
"The gentlest treatment is to simply rub a small amount of baby oil or olive oil onto your baby's scalp. Wait several minutes for the oil to soften and loosen the scales, and brush them away with a soft brush or a dry terry-cloth washcloth.
If the cradle cap is especially pronounced, or if your baby is over six months old, you could also wash the hair with a seborrhea shampoo, such as those containing selenium, salicylic acid, or tar. These shampoos don’t have the "no tears" factor, so be careful or your child may not like bath time as much as they usually do.
If the cradle cap is especially reddened or inflamed, a small amount of over-the-counter cortisone cream may help."

you can buy special cradle cap shampoo, or use a little bit of baby oil and a soft toothbrush. Put either the shampoo or a small amount of the oil on the scalp and gently brush the toothbrush across the scales, until they come off the scalp. Then shampoo as usual and apply a small amount of baby oil to the scalp and brush through with the hair brush.

I have a home remedy for cradle cap....this works amazingly. Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo and baking soda. Make a paste and wash baby's hair, then comb gently. Also you might want to keep some oil on the baby's hair to prevent it.. It works miricales on cradle cap.

Our little man had it real bad, it was thick and crusty and he flaked like a snow storm. I had no idea how to get rid of it, so I asked some of the girls at work what they did, and one told me to shampoo every day with Johnson's regular baby shampoo, then apply baby oil (not A & D, it's too thick and greasy). She said use his soft baby brush when shampooing to gently scrub it, and to use his little fine-tooth baby comb to "scratch" away the bigger chunks. Do this VERY GENTLY! His little scalp is growing new skin cells faster than he can shed them. I did this, and his cradle cap went away pretty fast, I think it took about 2 weeks. But be sure to shampoo every day with the baby brush, and use baby oil to soften the crusties. Good luck.

Do not scratch, again do not scratch, a warm damp cloth and light, Shea butter or baby oil. Keep in mind the cradle cap does not hurt the baby but scratching will.

My son is almost 8 mo. old and still has cradle cap. His doctor said put olive oil on it every time we wash his hair and let it sit for 15 min., once a week use selsun blue, and 3 times a week use hydrocortizon( however its spelled) cream on his head. It seems to be working.

Take a small amount of olive oil and massage it on his scalp let it sit for about 5 Min's then take a comb like one you would use for your hair not a baby comb then keep combing through it (his scalp) and the scales will comb up it will not hurt your child then wash his hair the olive oil is easier to wash out then the baby oil and works better after that when you wash his hair rub his head harder to keep the oil circulating
