should a man be force to pay child support for a baby he did not want his girlfriend to have? a baby that was conceived accidentally (condom ripped)? a baby for which he wanted his girlfriend to have an abortion, but, she didn't because it was within her right to have the baby. should she be allowed to ask him for child support?

it's not fair for the man to have to pay for a child he didn't want. he has no say to whether child should be permitted to live or not. the woman decided that for him. why should she ask for child support if she was the one who decided that she wanted to have the child. she should have thought about how expensive having a child is. it's not fair for the guy to have to pay for that mistake. and you can't just expect the man not to have sex at all. he was being careful. accidents do happened.

All kinds of accidents happen in life and many have a cost to us. This is just one more. Unless you come up with a "Presex Contract" covering all possibilities you will have to go with the current rules. This just happens to be a very expensive accident

A man using a condom must know that 'accidents' happen! He should definitely support the child. If you don't want a baby, don't have sex!!! If you never want a baby - get a vasectomy. No one has the right to decide whether or not a person should live, in my opinion.

come on , you know as well as I do the "condom ripping" thing is way too over used. And no one ever really buys that pathetic excuse. At any rate , Yes , I do feel he should be forced to pay child support. Even though it really pisses me off (my husband and I are currently paying for 3 children he supposedly didn't want) . I feel that if a man is stupid enough to put himself in that position then he has no one to blame but himself. you would think the males of this world would wise up and stop procreating. Who the hell wants kids anyway, they're nothing but a drain financially, mentaly and emotionally.

Yes, because it takes two to tango, and he had some part in the conception of the child. She could have an abortion, that is true, but just as you can't tell a woman she can't have one, you also can't tell her she must have one, it's a totally personal decision. She may want to have the child and give it life, but just needs a little financial help--and she's got every right to get it from the child's father.

Yes, it doesn't matter how prepared you are, that is the risk or haveing sex outside of marriage. But I think you should be very fair about the amount you ask for. You can always have the father waive the rights of the child, which is sorry in my book but that will keep him from having any rights to the child.

I have lived that situation. I got pregnant. I was not married. He wanted me to have an abortion, I did not. I had the baby, he was there and was, and still is, glad that I had her. He pays child support.
As others have said, you play you pay. If you are going to have sex, you have to be prepared to support a child, should one be conceived.

yes. The act of sex is pro creation not recreation and condoms are not 100% effective even if they dont rip.any guy who has sex should be very aware of the consequence because the child has a right to be supported by both parents regardless of the willingness of one or the other

first place you have the choice and it perfect fair I sorry you helped her conceived that child. I sorry so many men think they are not responsible she did not get pregnant by herself. second you are responsible for that child like it or not so yes I think it is fair. she paying for the child so give me one reason you shouldn't. there is any we go through the hard labor for you and we do not have to we don't believe in abortion. she probably has moral vales why she didn't as why as christian values I which more people would stand up and not have abortion my hat goes to her.

I think it is none of your business, this guy has a child, he should be happy, and you shouldn't meddle, your opinion doesn't count

Accident or not, he willingly participated in an act (sexual intercourse) that produced a child. You might as well ask if a man got drunk and drove his car accidentally into a crowded crosswalk killing several folks, should he pay for it. He was just having fun, he didn't want to kill those people, what the hell, let him go. I don't think so.
Thus, Yes he should be responsible for his actions.
