It is normal for some women to bleed after having sexual intercourse for the first time. Bright red in color, the bleeding is caused by stretching of the hymen until it tears. If the bleeding continues, it will turn dark red and trail off until it stops, typically within a few days.
If a woman is penetrated with fingers and experiences bleeding, there are a few causes. If she's a virgin, it's likely that her hymen has been torn. It's also possible that her vaginal walls have been scraped by her partner's fingernails, in which case it's important for her to be examined and get treatment so that she does not develop a vaginal infection.
In either case, a woman needs to see a health care provider for a check-up if:
bleeding is significant (is heavier than the first couple of days of her period, is constant, and/or soaks through a tampon and a pad)
bleeding persists for more than a few days
there is pain that does not get better
if your worried about anything regardless (for some peace of mind)
Hope this helps.. ;)

This is serious, 18 is still pretty young! You should wait till you are married and if you can answer no to any of these DROP IT LIKE A HOT POTATO!!!
- Are you ready to support a child till around 18 and get them to college?
- Do you want a child?
- Does your Husband want a child?
- Do you have a job and are finished with school? (If you are planning to go back for a doctoral that is okay.)
- Can you purchase the baby's needs and is the house baby safe?

I bled for a few days after my first time- not heavy bleeding, just kind of like "spotting". You'll probably be sore for a few days too- I had to walk really slow. It shouldn't take you too long feel better. Although if you're bleeding excessively or if the bleeding doesn't stop after a few days, I'd go to the doctor just to make sure everything's ok.

Hi,
Don't be concerned unless the bleeding continues and if it does go see your doctor. I work for a gyno and that is normal in some cases. It all depends on how thick or attached your hymen is. Some women have larger or smaller breasts etc. It is okay most likely. If you have bleeding later. Call your doctor.

The bleeding is fine some women bleed a lot and some do not bleed that much. My friend just did it for the first time and she said that she did not bleed as much and my mom she said that she did not bleed at all (1 in a million do not bleed when they have sex for the 1st time). I would not worry if I were you.
What you should worry about is getting pregnant. Take care of yourself and have safe sex.

As long as it stopped bleeding then you are okay. It does vary from female to female and it shouldnt last for too long.

It depends on how thick your hymen was. If you bleed past a day, then consult a doctor. It does vary from person to person.
